Adult Classes

A great way to start or end your day! For first time students or for those continuing on their dance journey. Classes are designed to develop flexibility, strength, proper body alignment, and overall physical well-being. Classes will be offered in ballet, jazz, tap, hip-hop, and a modern based yoga movement class. Genre of classes offered change each session/season.

Ballet
These classes will concentrate on proper body alignment, beginning barre work, and an introduction to classical ballet. It will help with flexibility, strengthening core muscle groups, balance, and toning, while gaining a greater appreciation for the art form. It is a great way to shape up and discover muscles you never knew you had!
Jazz
This class will give you an introduction to a great American art form. It is fast paced and funky and will get your heart beating to popular music trends. Classes begin with center movement warming up the larger muscle groups first, followed by isolations of body parts. This class will include stretching, across the floor combinations and center work.
Tap
These classes will emphasize proper tap technique and terminology. This is a terrific way to discover making music with your feet! Classes will consist of center warm-up, progressions across the floor, and center combinations.
Hip-Hop
Fun, Funky, and Fresh! These classes will keep you in shape and up-to-date in the latest movement style and music. Classes will consist of warm-up, stretches, and center combinations.
Modern
This class introduces the fundamental principles of Modern dance. Modern emphasizes the use of the floor for centering and grounding oneself in movement. This is great class to make every part of your body feel good. Using all organic and internal movement from within, the body will feel the strength of the core and ooze a sense of release from everyday tensions.
Pilates/Zumba

Pilates – This class is designed to increase strength, flexibility, stamina and concentration.   Pilates utilizes principles - breathing techniques, concentration, precision, control, and centering.  You can expect to learn a series of exercises that work the entire body. Ten classes will change your mind, twenty classes will change your body, and thirty classes will change your life.


Zumba
- Zumba fuses hypnotic Latin rhythms and easy to follow moves to create a dynamic workout system. It includes caloric-burning, heart-racing, muscle-pumping, body-energizing, awe-inspiring movements meant to engage and captivate for life!

The routines feature interval training sessions where fast and slow rhythms and resistance training are combined to tone and sculpt your body while burning fat.



Attire

Adult students do not have to wear black and pink! You have artistic freedom in whatever you are
comfortable in wearing.

  • Ballet: Ballet slippers
  • Jazz: Jazz shoes
  • Tap: Tap shoes
  • Hip-Hop: Sneakers
  • Modern/ Yoga Movement/Pilates: no shoes
  • Zumba: Sneakers

Tuition

$20 Annual Registration Fee
Summer: $95 for a session (1 genre) or an 8 class card (any genre)
Fall: $125 for a session (1 genre) 

Adult Session  1: August 20 - November 3

Adult Session  2: November 6 - February 2 

Adult Session 3: Februray 4 - April 20
